Have you guys heard of Glass Concrete? A Hungarian architect invented it.
The following article has some pictures, too:

very very cool, I'd be interested to see what the cost of this product will be. If it's not too entirely cost prohibitive, I imagine we'll probably be seeing this stuff become very popular. Any idea on when it's going to be available?

cheers,
dan

I don't know, I hope lack of funds will not hinder its progress.

I found the web site of the inventor:

http://www.litracon.hu/

As I am reading in the news, he made a lecture in Washington, D.C. yesterday about it.

We heard a about that product a while ago...go to the website and you can order a sample. We received an approx 3" x 3" x 1/2" square of it. It's really an incredible material. Hope to use it in future projects, but cost is still a question.

I was able to find the sample page on the website, but when I look under USA, it links me to the "MaterialConexion" website, this material library charges 200USD for membership, etc, and I can;t seem to find a sample section on the website. Who did you get your sample through?

cheers,

Unfortunately, it looks like the website has changed some, and they've oursourced their samples to other companies. We clicked a sample link on the website and filled out a form for mailing instructions. Now it links to a list of suppliers.

I will check at the office tomorrow if our sample has a supplier name on it, and post back here.

Sorry for the delay....I just looked, and our sample came direct from Litracon. I would contact them directly to get a sample.
