Google Earth snapshot scale

Whenever I place a Google Earth snapshot in ArchiCAD12 it is off scale. The measure bar in the down left corner of the snapshot does not correspond with the ArchiCAD measure distance. There is always a difference of a few metres. Rescaling the snapshot does not work. Is there any solution to this problem?

Have you noticed as well that a screenshot of Google Earth is out of proportion when you compare it to an image of the same area in Google Maps. Could this be part of the scale problem your experiencing?

I've found Google maps is more accurate when you compare it to an Ordinance Survey map. Google Earth is distorted around the edges of the view and can't be relied on to be accurate over long distances.
