Google Earth to AC15

Hi!

So im trying to import the Google Earth terrain so I can plop my massing model on it and run a shadow study from the top view. I got so far as the workaround for OSx and was able to save my "place" in GE into a .kmz file. Upon import this KMZ file appears as just a compass, with sun and camera: see attached image.

What am i missing here? Id like to see the terrain model and GE snapshot (but obviously cannot just import snapshot because my version of OSx isnt supported)

Help?!
