Importing textured 3D files

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi,
I am sure the answer is NO,
but is there a way of importing textured 3D files into ArchiCad?
Cheers

it is possible via 3ds format import (goodies)

The textures must be in the same folder as imported 3ds file when importing it.

Also, all textures come in when merging a Sketchup skp file.

The weird thing about opening skp files as an object (single object for entire file), is that GS put this functionality in the Open or Merge commands. So, even though those commands would normally open/merge file content - e.g., dwg or pln - in this case they convert the skp to an object and allow you to place it.

Anyway... the textures come in as part of the final object and each is listed in the Embedded Library.

Converting such a sketchup 'object' to a Morph for further modification works fine.
