PowerCADD - DXF Translator

I know this is a long shot, but I need a copy of the "DXF Translator External" for PoweCADD 4.0 by Engineered Software for Mac OS 9 Classic. This would be in the vintage software year of around 1997, about 10 years ago, when I was just a child.

I have contacted Engineered Software, of couse they no loner support PowerCADD 4.0, but more suprisingly, the don't even know were to find an old copy of the translator.... "get on line and look," was the reply. How strange, I would think now would be the perfact time to be selling a translator for old jobs coming back for updating.

Any suggestions would help.

Thanks

Thanks for your quick reply.

Is the translator for PowerCADD 2000 an "Add-On" or is it intergal to the application? If you can send it to me as a seperate application it might work to allow DFX translation of the native PowerCADD 4.0 files without ever opening them.

Let me know what you think.

Hello Seiss,
I am not sure how to answer your question
but I will describe what I see inside the PowerCADD folder.
Inside a folder called XTNL there is a folder called Translators
and inside that there a file called DXF Translator.
Also inside the XTNL folder there is a folder called WildTools
which is an add-on so maybe the DXF Translator is an add-on.
So why don't I send it to you. Worse that can happen is that it won't work.
(I think)

For those who maybe following the thread, the PowerCADD 2000 DFX translator from Peter would not load into PowerCADD 4.0. So I am still looking. Any help from the forum would be appreciated.

I just recently exported a dxf out of powercadd 4. I thought it was part of the program. If that is not the case, I can email the entire program or if you guide me just the files you need. Powercadd resides on my computer at home. Could not look into it until later today. You can contact me direct via emaill, my personal email is drlau@wi.rr.com

I would like to thank the ArchiCAD users group for all the help I got on the PowerCADD translator issue. The ArchiCADD group is really great! Thanks to thier collective help I now have a functioning translator for my old 2D drafting jobs.

Hello Seiss,
Thanks for letting us know.
I was wondering about how you were doing
trying to find the right translator.
I'm glad you were successful.
