Text block issues when using ArchiCAD 8.1 Translator

We have noticed a strange anomaly with dwg files created using an ArchiCAD translator with Plotmaker 3.1 files (using drawings from ArchiCAD 8.1 files).

Certain text blocks contained within the original ArchiCAD file get altered while being translated. Where there were spaces between characters within the ArchiCAD text block, you sometimes get returns within the dwg's text block and the text block width is resized accordingly. This effect is inconsistant; we can discern no pattern - sometimes returns are added, sometimes not. We have determined that it is not an ArchiCAD / Plotmaker scale issue or a text size translation issue. We suspect that it is some aspect of the translator, but don't know how to control the effect.

Does anyone whose familiar with the above scenario have any solutions to recommend?

Thank you,

Joe and Adam.

I don't know how you may overcome it but I may say that there is a problem when importing text from DWG.

In AutoCAD there is with aspect (max=1.0). If it is smaller than 1.0 (e.g. 0., when text imported in ArchiCAD it gets back to 1.0 because there is no such feature in ArchiCAD like "font with aspect".

Avoid it in ACAD and you'll have less trouble in ArchiCAD.
