Being part of a small firm and not having an FTP site set up I have used YouSendIt which is a web based FTP service (they have a free option!)

ok that makes sense & what do you mainly use to communicate on other parts of the project? eg questions from consultants etc?

Email, FTP, iDisk and some of my clients have their own systems. Oh, and of course there's GoToMeeting, Adobe Connect, Skype etc.

We have done some preliminary tests on Basecamp & Campfire, but weren't impressed.

ActiveCollab is looking better (private cloud) but we're not sold yet.

In fact we may have a custom solution coded if an out-of-the-box solution doesn't cut it for us. I'm very surprised there's not more out there actually. And I'd be keen to here of others.

Cheers,
Link.

yes activecollab looks good, there are a few similar ones out there to. I do quite like basecamp, but think it's more for internal use, rather than getting others involved....
