Being part of a small firm and not having an FTP site set up I have used YouSendIt which is a web based FTP service (they have afreeoption!)

We have done some preliminary tests on Basecamp & Campfire, but weren't impressed.
ActiveCollab is looking better (private cloud) but we're not sold yet.
