Beam with complex profile: How do I mask it on the corners ?

I have made a complex profile for a beam. I put 2 beams in the floorplan so they intersects (one 90 degrees on the other). But it's impossible to mask it correctly. They should both have been cut 45 degrees, so they would fit nicely together. How can I obtain this?

They should clean up. Can you post a screenshot?
Are the beams horizontal or is one or both sloped?

Hi Erika
I've made a screendump that shows the problem. The beams are put on top of wall-panels (?) that cover the lower part of the wall, as in classical interiors.
In 2d view I've aligned the beams so they fit together.

select those 2 beams and use intersect command. They must connect right !

Thank you very much, Erika. That solved the problem. I had no knowledge of this command, but now I've learned.
