Custom Tag Creation

Hello,

I've been trying to create a custom tag that has a rectangular box with a line dividing it in the middle. on the left side I need a Letter representing the material, on the right side I need a number representing the atual finish.
Finally this label should have a leader that points to an element. This leader " L shaped" should be able to be stretched at will.

How can I create this while being able to edit the text parameters for each individual text element but keeping this label as a block?

Any help is appreciated

Hi Juancamore01

I'm curious if anyone every replied to your post, or if you figured this out. I'm trying to do the same thing...

Thanks,

Matt
This is fairly basic GDL.
Asking someone how to do it is akin to asking them to write it for you, because its that simple. I will give you a start.

step 1/ create a new GDL object and set its subtype to "Label"
This takes care of the leader as it is built into the "Label" subtype so you will get all the functionality of the leader in other Labels... pretty cool right.

step 2/ use basic GDL to create the box and text items.
Asking the experts on here to take the time to teach basic GDL will probably not get much response. You need to put the effort in to at least learn the basics on your own.

Let's hope when the new Parma-o and Python scripts become the norm, some developers will at least share them with the rest of the community, which I think Graphisoft was hoping that would happen.

Agreed. I think it will be a great way to share various GDL functionalities

You can also simply draw what you want (without the leader) and add auto text.
Then select and 'save selection as library part' > label

Now you have a basic label to use without the need for any GDL.
It is not as good as a scripted label, but usually it is good enough.
