Fill tool

I have roughly 100 windows to fill on an elevation, all of which have different dimensions.

How can I fill these 2D polygons/windows without having to draw around the contours again?

I hope that it is not an unlinked elevation ...

... because if it is not, you can assign the wanted fill to the glass material of the windows, switch the 3D hatch on, and spend some time having coffee while Archicad does it instead of you doing it.
How does one assign the fill to the glass material?

In the Materials Dialog, you can assign a 3D Hatch to any material.
Then, in the 3D Window Settings Dialog, you can set 3D hatches to be gerenated. Section/Elevation View use these 3D Window settings.
It usually takes some time to do a Section/Elevation when these options are on.

Correct.

The time that you spend doing something else, a lot less than if you do it manually.

I don't know any previous citations, but recently Donald Rumsfeld said something like "there are the things we know, the things we know we don't know and the things we don't know that we don't know".
