Fills and Zones Transparent AC19

Not sure if it was done on purpose by Graphisoft or not, but now in AC 19 when trace is on and the Make Fills and Zones Transparent button is activated, the Fills are completely transparent, not just the background cover like in earlier versions.

It was fine the way it was before I thought. Now I have to add another check box to the "why my fill doesn't show up" question.

Well the Reference Guide does say:

"If this button is activated, then element fills will not be displayed. These include foreground fills, background fills that have a color, and zone fills."

So I guess it was intentional. I personally don't mind the change, but yes it was a little unexpected.

Cheers,
Link.

Yes, the AC18 reference guide reads exactly the same way as AC19 but behaves as discussed.
Kind of eliminates the possibility of using a trace reference as a option-click template for common fills. So, I would say it is not a good thing and at least needs to be an option to get it back.

So you just don't push the "Make Fills Transparent" button, right? I also use a trace reference fill legend for favorites, and it seems to work fine. That button has always been dangerous.

On another note, is anyone having visual problems with Trace Reference in AC19? It's fine in normal mode, but in the Trace & Reference palette, when I set a color to the Trace (which I always do for clarity), and move the slider down to make it transparent, all of my traced elements get a dark gray background fill, which kind of defeats the purpose of making them transparent.

I thought it was just my old home computer's video card, but it also happens on my new Macbook Pro.

I'm guessing it's a bug, since I can't see any new settings that would affect this?

Hi all, the pre ARCHICAD19 behavior is how the fills should work, and we have added this issue to be fixed (#195539)! Thanks!

Hey Katalin

Will that include removing mention of the foreground fill out of the relevant section of the Reference Guide too?

Cheers,
Link.
