Floor Plan section is cutting at wrong location

I am drawing an existing wall

The Main Portion of the wall goes below grade

Below the wall is a continuous concrete footing

THE SECTION CUT IS SHOING AS IF IT IS CUTTING FAR LOWER THAN IT IS.

Seems like both wall elements are placed on the same story and that you have floor plan display and floor plan cut plane set such that both show on the same floor plan with the footing now having a higher display priority.

Select the footing in the floor plan view and right click > display order > send to back.

If you don't want the footing visible at all for the view you have to adjust floor plan display and floor plan cut plane or work with layers or renovation filters.

That did not work - Redid all the walls and that fixed it.  No explination as I copied from a view from what I did before

The attached images shows that your Floor Plan Cut Plane height (vertical position) is set to zero (field in the upper right corner of the Dialog), not 4' like you say it (second field from top). That 4' refers to something else. Check the Help Files for the description of all the fields in the Dialog.
