Is it possible to display the ground floor and first story side by side in Archicad as done in Revit?

No.

Not like Revit.

(i.e as both 'Active' views)

But one rtick you can use, if you only want to do this for referencing purposes is to do it via the Virtual Trace command.

Show the floor you want to compare to as a virtual trace and then drag it (using the "drag reference"  command on the virtual trace palette) to drag it to the side of the floor you currently are on.

Many thanks! It did not occur to me. That will do for me.
