Got stuck on a stair railing?

Hi,
My out-of-the-box thinking didn't work good enough to recrete this railing. I got as far as the solid part with the built in stair tool. However the groove for the hand got me. I tried to morph it. I tried a complex profile but couldn't ramp it up properly.
Is it doable or do I need Objective? What do you think?
Cheers,
Mats

Have you tried the solid railing object? https://bimcomponents.com/GSM/Details/10444

Use more than one and with solid element operators remove the parts you don't need.

Thanks a lot Erwin,

I didn't know about that railing object. Those I had in my libary were to crude.
Now it's a walk in the park...I did one solid ralinig, duplicated ut and adjusted the heigt. Morphed the copey and changed the end shape and finally a SEo...and voila.

For the groove you can use the Railing object "Rail Simple Bar 16" (SEO with the solid railing).

I discovered it's not easy to align the railing with the stair. It'll be a good enough solution...not the tidiest. I think I have to give it to our 3DSMax guys if I want it visually perfect.
