You will want to look for the Group tool.
The default keyboard shortcut is CTRL-G (on windows).
Or find it in the EDIT menu.

Select the items you want to group and then use the group command.

You also have the "Suspend Groups" and "Enable Groups" tool that can turn the grouping on or off without actually un-grouping the elements.
Allowing you to edit individual elements.
Enable the groups again and they will behave as one entity.

If you have Autogroup on, (Edit>Grouping>Autogroup), when you create multiples of an element, all but the original will be grouped. It is quick and easy to add the original to the new group.

Similarly, when you are laying out walls if you use the chained or rectilinear geometry option, all of them will be grouped.

With short cut keys to suspend and enable grouping having autogrouping on can be a tremendous time saver as you continue to work. The alternative is the hunting and pecking when you want to select a group of like elements for editing a parameter.

A bit controversial having the autogrouping on as a default, but some of us like it, and some of us don't

Pixpast,

Since you're new to groups, you might want to take a moment and read these two blog posts on groups. There's some great info:
