How to display composite wall edges properly

How can I properly display wall edges of freestanding (unclosed) walls? In the image attached I have wall ends where I'd like the correct wall surface displayed - in this case drywall at the wall end.

Use the wall end tool.

If it's an opening, use the empty opening window / door (not the simple opening). Play around with the "Wall closure" options to get what you want.
