Importing Microstation 3d files

I am having difficulty importing a Microstation file

Could not find a way to import directly into the Archicad file

And tried to open the 3d Mstation file and it opened a 2d document I can only see in the floor plan

So I assume you are importing a DGN file.

Unfortunately, that file import process has the limitation of only importing the 2D part of it.

You can make a wish for this feature, we can vote on it (with LIKES at the moment) and if it gets enough support, we can submit it to GRAPHISOFT for consideration.

If you do make a wish, please post its link in this thread.

As a suggestion, you can try exporting an IFC file from Microstation and open that in Archicad.

I tried the incorrect and can't get that to work.   Can I import dwg into Arcicad?

For 3D import DWG is probably not ideal.

I would try 3DS or sketchup format if microstation can export that. You could try opening the exported IFC in something like BIMcollab Zoom to see if the file is correct. IFC should really be the safest option, so it is strange it doesn't give good results.

Will keep trying,  Leaving Microstation for BIM and years of data to be translated.
