Is it possible to get the coordinates of another object?

Hi everyone,

I've been looking through the GDL Center but didn't find anything so here it is :
Is it possible to get the X,Y,Z coordinates of another specific object inside of an other object?

I have a specific goal in mind : I'd like to make an object that can find the position of the Archicad Survey Point and display the geographic coordinates of any point on the plan relatively to the Survey Point (and an error message if there is more than one Survey Point or none).

Has anyone an idea about this?

Thank you

Johan

Objects can't get information directly from other objects.
There is a way but it requires one object outputting information to an external text file and then the other objects reading that information back in - using the TEXT or DATA input/output.

I don't know how the Survey Point object works - whether it saves the co-ordinate information somewhere other than internally in the object.
I have never used this object.
If it does save the co-ordinate information somewhere, then your other objects could read this info in.
