Lines in True weight. Rounded tip? or squared?

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have this problem when drawing details and I print them they don't look very good because the tips of the lines are rounded on their ends (visible on the screen aswell when you zoom in the tip of a line in trueweight mode). Is there a way to draw with lines that have squared tips?

Thanks,
Lukas

Merging these two sounds reasonable to me. When I found this thread I skipped the older one (since it might have been not up-to-date).

If there's no poll for this, I'm going to make one. AutoCAD already has this feature (changing pen shape like in photoshop) and I can't stand Archicad doesn't

I think it is better if we don't merge a 2005 topic with a 2010 topic.
Based on this we could start merging all kinds of topics based on similar questions, which could quickly become a big mess.

Just leave it like this. It is not that big of a problem.
But it is a good guideline for us moderators for future reference, I guess.

You could always try a zero height wall where the wall thickness is the width of the line you want (allowing for scale of course).
Drawing a wall in plan is the same steps as drawing a line and one advantage over lines is you can adjust the reference line so it is at the edge or in the centre.

Now it is 2018 now. Can this method using to draw property line as dashed line style?

I am afraid nothing has changed.
I don't even think Graphic Overrides could help here - i.e override a solid wall fill with a dashed (or chequered) fill.

But you can create a symbol line type that is made up from many single lines adjacent to each other.
You just need to remember to still place this new line with a thin pen otherwise you will get the rounded ends again.
The gap between the lines need to be close enough so that they join together based on the pen thickness you will be using the gap should be the same as the pen thickness.

See this post - it may help.

But that method will cause a problem on the corner of lines, not sharp clean corner. Anyway, Thank you very much!

No corners aren't so good.

Zero height walls are the best.

Seems I never replied to this.

They can if you set their 'Floor Plan Display' to 'Overhead' and the overhead line type is set to a dashed line.
