Missing Door Handles in 3D view

Apparently one of the most asked support questions, but I can't find a post on it. Why don't I see the door handles/ knobs for doors or cabinets in a 3D view? There are selection options to choose the style/ type of handle, but in 3D it's not showing. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm not seeing? Any help appreciated.

I believe there is a setting for this in Model View Options.

Thanks but could you be a little more specific. I still can't find anything.

Right here.
Remember to store the new setting in the MVO combination otherwise it will simply turn off again when you activate a view using that MVO.
