Missing Objects: Missing from Attributes

JaredBanks

I opened a v14 .pln last night (After working on it all day without a problem) and now I have something 'missing' from the attributes. Anyone know how to find this? I can't even do a find and select because the name is such gibberish that I can't even type it.

Thoughts?

I'm hoping the backup file is okay.

Thanks.

High/Low + trial and error solved this.

I assumed it was a material issue. I started replacing materials in large chunks (via the attribute manager) from the previous day's backup file until the missing attribute disappeared. Turns out it was material #148 out of 150 that was the issue.

I guess archicad didn't like that i changed that material's name.

Go to the Help file and read the following pages:

Configuration > Attributes > Missing Attributes

and

Configuration > Attributes > Missing Attributes > Find and Select Elements with Missing Attributes

These should help you correct this if it again arises in the future.

I forgot about the new find and select - missing.

Thanks!

Hi Laszlo

I have the same problem - different missing attribute. I have tried your 'select-find' trick, but even though the project always shows the 'missing objects - missing attributes' window on startup the Find & Select can't find it. Any ideas?

Did you go through all stories with all layers visible to find the element with missing attributes?

Yes, I've gone through all the stories and sections and elevations for what it's worth. All with 'show all layers'. The irritating thing is that this is part of my template file, so even when there is no model in the project this missing attributes window comes up. And if not resolved then I will have it as part of every future project that I start based on this template.

Maybe it is a reference in one of your Favorites.
You could check that out.

Thanks - how would I go about doing that? I opened windows - palettes - favorites and I get a window that shows about 100 favorites, many of them greyed out and most of them that I have never seen before. Then I'm lost with what to do next

James:

Based on your 28 April screen shot, it looks like there are textures missing, so you will need to check the textures assigned to your material definitions, for both the Internal Engine and LightWorks rendering engines (see Jared's posts).
