Modeling an Odd Shaped Tub

Chris Grantham

My boss would like me to model this bathtub. I honestly don't have the foggiest idea where to start or if it is even possible without advanced GDL scripting knowledge, which I don't have. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

I think this could be done using a complex profile wall for the sides,
a slab for the bottom, and several barrel vault roofs to trim the top
edge of the tub. Alternatively, a mesh saved as a library part with
a mulz -1 command at the beginning of the 3D script could be used
as an operator in an SEO to trim the top edge of the tub.

Or you could start with something found online, like this. Then modify it as needed. You might need AC11 with the SketchUp plugin, though.

I'm using a complex profile shape to slice the top.

Thanks for your help! I am going to give the sketchup a shot first, then I'll try the complex profiles.

Here's a better view of that cutter.

The swoop passes diagonally over the top to get the non-symmetric profile edge
