Objects not to correct size in Arch 22

When adding kitchen units, cupboards, etc, the objects appear at incorrect sizes. Sometimes they have almost no thickness and usually they are too small. I have to select them and then add the correct dimensions in settings.
This only started a couple of months ago. Before that it was fine

Barry is referring to the tool bar at the top of the screen in the default UK template set up. In AC there is a bit of a quirk where some settings don't appear in the main tool setting dialog, this is one of them. I have attached a snapshot to help you locate the icons.
