PDF Insertion not working

I can't seem to insert a PDF. It shows up with a frame but nothing actually showing. I recently installed the latest AC14 Hotfix. Anyone else having this problem with the latest Hotfix?

under properties, is the on-screen preview set to full precision (or quick preview)?

Are you just dragging and dropping the PDF or going through a tool first?

Also, are you putting in the layout book?

By the way, do I have you on the Minnesota User Group list? If not... we should talk.

Its set to full precision and I have tried drag and drop and the tool. As well as in the layout and model. It is also happen on multiple computers in our office. And yes, I am a frequent MNACUG attendee.

Are the files old files that have been upgraded from v13? Try starting a fresh file from the latest hotfix and see if that works.

Also is it only PDFs or are other formats also causing the problem?

It is only happening in projects upgraded from v13. Its seems to be only PDFs as all other external content seems to work.

Sounds like a bug that wasn't known about or resolved in the latest hotfix. Can you use a different file format instead of PDFs for those projects?

Glad to help. Sorry it's just a work around and not a better answer. The dangers of migrating projects...

I have run into this issue in my office. If you open Drawing Manager and check status and then run an update on the pdf's they should come back.

Check the path for the file your attempting to insert.

Are there any strange characters in it?
Like a "/" in the name of a folder the pdf is in?

Mac OS will allow you to have a "/" in a folder name, or even an individual file name (if you go and change it after the fact), but this can/will cause some issues.

I had that happen where there was a"/" in a folder name... half of the pdf's inserted fine, the other half came in as you first described.
