Looking forward to testing this.

The Rhino-connection has been pretty good so far (although could be improved in some respects).

And as I mentioned on the YouTube page, I hope this collaboration to develop an ArchiCAD-Grasshopper bridge inspires Graphisoft developers to think more 21st Century terms and in a visual/component-based methodology and workflow when, and if they ever develop a Custom GDL-object maker/editor for ArchiCAD as well as an improved Window/Door creator.

This is great news! I hope it will work well with the curtain wall, walls, roof, slabs, etc
For example if i can define fluid or polygonal surfaces in Grasshopper and then send them as BIM walls or if i can explore and create facade patterns using custom panels. Windows and doors insertion points sent from Rhino/grasshopper will also be welcome.

Let's hope it is a very open and generic solution. It would be really nice if you could also extend Grasshopper with custom ArchiCAD-related nodes. That would bring immense power to ArchiCAD users (on Windows...).

GRAPHISOFT has just released a few tutorial clips that show real examples of the solution:

I think this is most useful for those who are already using this solution and already are somewhat familiar with Rhino and Grasshopper.

It's less open as I hoped, but a usable solution nonetheless. You get some particular ArchiCAD object nodes in Grasshopper and can even link to ArchiCAD 2D contour to use as geometry input in Grasshopper. For deep editing, they seem to suggest breaking the link, so it seems to be used best during early design and design development on a rough scale.

Rhino works on Mac since one year!

May we have the Archicad connection for Mac before ten years?

Or is it only for PC?

Grasshopper only (officially) exists for the PC side of things currently (there's an early alpha version for Mac, but that's only for testing at the moment), so until there's an official release for Mac side, I wouldn't expect official release on the GS end either.

It says on the download page that it's 'coming soon' which I guess means they're working on it.

As for the standard Rhino-ArchiCAD importer/exporters,...those exist for both PC and Mac and are available for download on download site.
