These are my settings - they look much the same (metric of course).
I have a couple of extra rules active but I don't think they will make a difference.
We both have our 'going' (tread) length locked which I think is a good thing.
To me it makes no difference if the baseline is left or right, but what is important is that to get the 'zero' distance corners you must snap the to the stair tread - you will get the black pen at that node.
I also don't use the pet palette to swap between flight and landing.
I just set the stair turning type to either landing or winder and leave the pet palette set to flight, then place my stair ensuring I use the tread nodes for the corners.
