Vertical Wall to Mesh line

Brett Brown

Hi All, In 19, in elevations you have a line at the intersection of your vertical foundation wall and the site mesh (sloping sites). This changed in 20 to no line at all and I reported it. I was told it was a bug but Graphisoft were to busy to fix it because of them working on 21.

Apparently Graphisoft only fix bugs when a lot of users report it.

Surprise surprise it still happens in 21.

Isn't this a major bug? It's costing me a lot of time to fix on such a basic thing that should work. Also doesn't work in 3D documents and more work to fix.

Please users if you can confirm this, please report it to your reseller.

cheers

Hi Steve,

Yes the SEO is a work around but correct me if I'm wrong, isn't the point of these new material priority's that you should not have to do the SEO?

The wall has a higher priority than the site mesh, and has no line between them like in your first picture.

I am not sure if I like having a line there automatically or not.

If you don't it looks like this

oh yes. That line needs to be there.

SEO have to be used in your case. Meshes don't participate in PBC if I'm not wrong.
In AC19, if you have a mesh and put a wall there and don't make a SEO, you will not see the intersection line ...

Meshes and walls never have interacted giving intersection lines and as Alemanda says they don't take part in Priority Based Connections (based on building material strength) either.
So SEO it is.

Another option though is to cut a hole in the mesh where the wall or walled area is and then fill in underneath with another mesh if need be.

Or you could create a user defined ridge (contour) around the walls as well.

Do you know the reason the mesh is not involved in PBC Barry? Why would Graphisoft support tell me this was a bug and they were trying to fix it? Strange.
