Zone Boundary Editing & Interior Elevations

Hi Everyone,
I'm finally getting to interior elevations. I was
told to just create a Zone, place a Marker, and use
the command to Create an elevation. That's fine,
I found all of that, but does it really work? Someone
else mentioned to just use the Section tool to generate
interior elevations because it works better. What does
everyone do for Interior Elevations?
The second part is how can you edit a boundry line
for Zones. I thought it would be like a polyline. Yesterday
I had moved corner points and sides like a polyline
but today is a different story. All I can do is move the
entire boundry. What changed, or how do I change it
back? See attached drawing.
Thank you for any help, it's really appreciated.
Matt

I may not understand what you want properly, but from your drawings, it seems like you want to move the walls and have the zone change as well? If so, you have to use the 'update zomes' command as they won't update automatically.

I'm just getting going using the interior elevations tool as well - I used the zone to create some of them, but have created most manually using the rectangular or polygon option to get what I want.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply. I just figured it out
and the word "Convoluted" comes to mind
along with it.
I was looking for the edit tools that come up
with editing polyline so that I could change the
shape of my zone.
It's a toggle buried in the Model View Options
toggle the Zone Fill on / off.
If it's off then you can't edit the Zone.
If It's on you get the editing tools I thought you
could use. (see image, maybe)
Now I can edit the Zone boundary like I had
thought you could do.
Thank you for your help.
Take care,
Matt

Hi Everyone,
Here's the image with the
editing tools I wanted.
This program is as mysterious
as the game of Myst sometimes
with the way controls and menus
are laid out.
Why not put all of the Zone
elements and settings in one
place? First I go to one place
to toggle on the Zone Fill, then
I go somewhere else to setup
Zone categories, and so on
until eventually I have everything
just right so that I can create a
Zone. I really don't have time
for these games.
Thank you,
Matt

Ahh, I see what you wanted to do - glad you found it, I would still be hunting. Good point about the PITA searching for things. I'm sure there's a logic behind it all, but more than once, I've spent hours trying to figure something out only to find (usually thanks to someone here) that there's a simple toggle switch somewhere.
