constrained movement in y direction only - how do I unlock?

Hello,

today my movement of objects is constrained/locked only in the y direction.

How can I get it to move objects anywhere (ie x as well).

I must have pressed a shortcut somewhere and locked it.

Help.

try 'S' for the grid snap toggle?

Hi,

tried the 'S' but it didn't change the situation.

See the screen shot if this helps to show the problem.

Not sure I understand the issue then - is it the door you're trying to move, or all objects?

If it's just the door you can't drag it to change it's placement in the wall, there's a setting in the door tool itself (reveal depth)

If you are trying to drag the door it can only move along the length of the wall that it is in.
Use the eye-dropper to get its properties and insert a new door in the other walls if that is what you want.

Hi,

yes it was the door I was trying to move.

Thanks for your advice, I see now it is constrained to the wall & I can't move it out of that plane.

Michael, doors & windows do not have layers as such they
reside in the wall in which they are placed.
