how to create an non-included element

hi
I want to create some specific element, for example, a roof which is not included in the library. I wander whether GDL is necessary to create it, or there exists an easier way just using the software.
Many thanks from a beginner.

I am not sure I quite follow what you mean.

You can create composites that can be used with the roof, slab and wall tools.
No GDL is required.
Composites allow you to create skins such as roof finish, battens, rafters, membranes, etc.
You then use this composite with the roof tool to create whatever shape roof you want.

It is difficult to understand what you want to create, a picture would help.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
