how to create lcf files

Erika Epstein

How can I create an lcf file (library container file) that doesn't end up with me getting a
"WARNING! Master_GDLAC_10_US.GDL"

when loading libraries?

I am trying to turn some collections of library parts [in this case that I downloaded from the ACtalk free libraryparts] , into lcfs.

The Help Menu is a bit thin on this topic.

I found the file "MASTER_GDLAC_10_US.gdl" at ArchiCAD Library 10 > List Templates 10 > Property Data 10 > US_Property Data 10 > MASTER_GDLAC_10_US.gdl. You might try adding a copy of this file to the library you are converting and see if that takes care of the error message, or check that there is only one copy of the file.

David,
Thank you.

Apparently I was making it to hard on myself while I quickly dug a deep rut.

To create a new lcf file, all you need to do is load the libraries , for example I loaded the unpacked construction library in addition to the standard AC10 library.

Don't waste time placing one instance of each as if for a pla.

Go to file,
libraries & objects
create container.

A "Create Library container" window will pop-up
highlight the loaded library you want to create an lcf for and click on the 'create' button. You will asked to name the file and choose its location. It automatically chooses the lcf file type.

Trying to do it like a pla is where I messed up and ended up including multiple instances of master_gdl...
