IS it a way to select a group of points in a mesh to give them the same Z coordinate?

As long as they are part of the same contour, yes. There is a tick box for 'apply to all'.

Ok, I understand you can break the contour to convert in different ridges.
But it is possible to copy the contour with his own z coordinates in each points to an adjacent mesh.? That is very useful when building different mesh for a road and for the terrain besides, it is specially useful in an road with a specific slope.
