Archicad C++ API
About Archicad add-on development using the C++ API.

Why the cost for the api?

Still a cost, albeit small but anyways a cost. Just got the question from a new co-worker that have a programming background and would like to try some plug-in programming to see how it works mainly because he likes programming and design. Maybe he can do something useful but it all starts with the fun factor. Great development often start as fun and fun is usually free today. Slapping 5k euro for the license just to try the stuff is like slapping 5k euro on a computergame demo. We can buy the developer license for him of course but I'm thinking of the curious people out there without ArchiCAD but interested in programming and solving tasks.

Hi Mats,

Registering to http://archicadapi.graphisoft.com site to become an ARCHICAD API Developer is totally free. You don't have to pay anything if you want to develop an ARCHICAD AddOn.
If you want to try out what you can achieve then you can try your AddOns in demo version of ARCHICAD.

Tibor

All of those are optional, you don't have to pay anything. Also, you can test your add-ons in the demo version of ARCHICAD, all work fine (except saving into foreign file formats).

Actually, I was wondering about it once.

Is license need for commercial selling of add-ons and in case of personal use is free?
Or it's just free up for educational use?

Aha! Kind of misleading text then but thanks for clarifying! We'll test in the sharp version . Hard to use the demo version with our network key .
