ArchiCAD 18 Export to Artlantis - Group Materials

In past versions of ArchiCAD, when I exported to Artlanis all materials would be grouped together regardless of what layer they were on. With v18 the materials are grouped together by layer, so in Artlantis I can have several copies of the same material on different layers. The problem here is that I then have to make the same tweak to that material multiple times so it looks the same in each instance.

Is anyone else having that issue? There are no options (button grayed out) in the Artlantis export to group by material.

Makes sure you tick the 'unique layer' to not get duplicate materials.

Thank you, I did manage to figure that out yesterday but doesn't that seem to be the opposite of what you would expect to happen? Oh well, so long as it works!

Dear All, We checked previous versions of ArchiCAD (back to AC15) and the export of .atl files have always been working as Erwin mentioned below.
The elements (and surfaces) were exported by layers except if you ticked the "unique layer" checkbox. In this case all ArchiCAD elements were created on the same layer and the same surfaces were editable together in Artlantis.

Please see the Artlantis FAQ article about the "unique layer' here:
