Autotext of #Drawing Name and #Drawing Scale

Dalius

When I use Autotext of #Drawing Name and #Drawing Scale in my layouts, it shows not only the name and scale of each drawing, but also everything that is placed to that layout – schedules, photos, etc. Is it possible somehow to eliminate them from the list?

You can hide the scale in the layout by rt-clk on drawing then "drawing selection settings" > "properties" and unchecking the "include scale..." box.

I don't know how you would hide the drawing name.

Dalius, you might want to use <LAYOUTNAME> instead of <DRAWINGNAME>

Or put the autotext in the saved view rather than on the layout. We've been doing this for years instead of using the drawing titles.

This only works for live views though, if you publish it as PMK and then link that, it won't work.

Thanks to everyone for the tips, but we still did not find a suitable solution.

DGSketcher, yes, it's easy to hide the scale. Sad, there is no such possibility with a drawing name!

Vistasp, we use both Autotexts: #Layout Name and #Drawing Name in the title block. For example, #Layout Name is SECTIONS, but since there are several sections in one layout, #Drawing Name is SECTION A-A, SECTION B-B, SECTION C-C 1:100. Please look at the attachment.

Erwin, the drawing titles are okay for us, we use them. We need to list the names of the drawings in the title block, that are loaded into the layout. However the names of schedules and photos appears as well, because they are placed as external drawings.

Oh right, we have that problem too, with scale for example.

As a workaround, we duplicate our masters and place those elements on the master. It's not ideal, but it gets around the problem of the 'stamp' saying things we don't want.

Will this do what you want:
Select the drawing on the layout you want the aut-text to reference. Right-click and choose "set as auto-text reference"
Instead of "Drawing Scale" in the list of auto-text, choose "Drawing Scale Ref".

If you have more than one drawing for which you want it's scale then repeat the steps with the next drawing, setting it as the autotext reference etc.

We're having the same issues over here...

For this particular layout we could use a Sheet Index, but then when one Sheet has 3-4 drawings on it we have a different problem (unable to name all the drawings).
