Dimensions and the Structure display options

Too Long
Enthusiast

Ive dimensioned walls in a view that is showing the Entire Model.

I changed the walls composite to add a new skin material (cladding and air gap) and assign these as a Finish and change the view to display Without Finishes or Core Only the dimensions disappear.

is there a way to change the walls composite to have a this cladding finish without the dimensions disappearing so that this new skin dosnt display in this view?

No sadly. Those dimensions are gone. It is a painful lesson I learnt about a decade ago. I only have full display in plan view  now and all other views so  I don't make that mistake again.

For clarity, the dimensions aren't really gone when you change the Partial Structure Display.

It is just each of the 4 display options have their own dimensions.

Placing a dimension in one display option will not show in any of the others - they all have to be dimensioned separately.

But the dimensions will still be there when you switch between them.
