Does llight go through walls ?

Anonymous
Not applicable
It appears that light can go through walls in LightWorks... is this true ? or am I seeing things ? Like the gray walls that even with 'ceiling white' as the color my interior viewed walls all look dirty.

No shadows = infinite light

You might remember from the Oakland Seminar and from page 31 - the quick start guide and pages 51-57 the General Light Source, and in the Fakiosity article, page 80, that General Light Sources, or any light source with shadows "OFF," will shine through walls infinitely.

Here's an example of a general light at full intensity with no falloff.

As for your wall color looking dirty, you could illuminate those walls like the exercise on page 156, or, not in the "LightWorks in ArchiCAD" book, you could make the walls emissive.

Stay away from grey colors - always make walls beige, and add roughness to avoid dirtiness. See page 121.
