Double hung windows in elevation

There are several single-hung windows in a home we are designing. When looking at them in elevation, with shadows cast, the shadows show up accurately, but other portions of the sash are also shadowed, incorrectly.

Any ideas as to what is causing this and what the fix is?

Please tell us what version+hotfix you are using. Also what are the settings for the 3D view.

I have seen glitches like this in shadow casting in elevations. There might be something about the scripts of the library parts that is affecting this but more likely is is an internal error and not directly subject to user control. Perhaps if you change the sun angle setting?
