Graphic override works for single skin composites but not multiple skin composites

I need to have 3 'color' choices for surfaces such as siding, stucco, and paint, and want them to display with different shaded background fills in section and elevation.

The surfaces are named:
Siding - Color 1, Siding - Color 2, Siding - Color 3
Stucco - Color 1, Stucco - Color 2, Stucco - Color 3
Paint - Color 1, Paint - Color 2, Paint - Color 3

I have 2 graphic overrides to set the fill background pen of surface names that contain:
'Color - 2' to pen 92 light grey, and
'Color - 3' to pen 94 dark grey

This override works on composites containing a single skin, however it does not work on composites with multiple skins, even though some of the skins are identical to the single skin composites.

Any idea how to get this to work on multiple skin composites?

Graphic Overrides will affect the entire element.
You can not override individual skins.
