thank you for pointing me to that link.

Here's the solution:
One needs to select the Interior elevation in the viewmaps list.
then go to the "Settings" from there AND THEN and only then can you move it to another layer.

it's $#@! up that one can simply NOT grab the interior elevation marker and push it to another layer. THAT'S A BUG.....sorry but it's poor programming and it just is.

if a user can move a section reference marker and an exterior elevation maker to other layers by merely grabbing (selecting) the tag...there's no reason why it shouldn't be possible with interior elevation markers.............sorry GS but you need to fix this.

This is the best method. I totally agree that these markers are a nightmare to deal with.

the interior elevation markers ARE A DISASTER....period.
They need to be programmed to function and move their plane edges in PLAN JUST LIKE THE SECTION AND JUST LIKE THE ELEVATION MARKERS.............PERIOD.

Maybe they'll come to their senses in AC23?

Interior elevation markers are a little different as they can belong to a 'group' and are controlled by an overall polygon extent rather than the length of the elevation line and an extent.
If you find that the elevation tool is better, then just use those for your interior elevations - I do.
