Moving Interior Elevation Markers to a New Layer

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am working on a project the has all of the interior elevation markers shown on one particular layer. I would like to separate the standard interior elevation markers from the ones that I want on the enlarged plans. When I select any of the interior elevation markers the layer setting is greyed out and will not let me move the marker to a different layer. I do not know if this was set-up this way be the previous person working on the project (who is no longer with this employer) or not. Can you have interior elevation markers on separate layers?

Either the "Layer" or the "section marker" itself are "locked" (or both).

If you turn "tracker" on (it's in your "work environment" settings) .... and hover over the marker, it will tell you.

Unlock... and you will be able to change the layer.

I don't know if you can see it or not but both Layer and Marker are not locked, yet the layer setting is grey.

How do you upload a screen shot?

"Choose File" (not "add attachment")
Note the file types and size requirements.

From another thread HERE...

You need to select the whole group of interior elevations and not just the individual elevation to be able to change the layer.

...and you have to select them all at the same time.
So it lists as 1 selected item.

I was able to move all of them to another layer. I still cannot move the ones that I only want show up on the enlarged plans to their own separate layer.

Brian:

Try selecting the marker you want to use at the end of the Limit Line (the line that runs along the face of the wall), not the Marker itself or the line that runs through the marker. This will be easier to see if you activate the On-Screen Display Option: Marker Range.

I tried selecting all of the points one at a time and nothing allows me to change the layer. I am beginning to think there is a setting somewhere that need to be deselected that gives individual control to the Interior Elevation Markers.
