I don't like it one bit..... I Love it! Very inspirational photo-realistic work. Watching you drop these bombshell renderings over the past month makes me wonder how long you have kept them stashed away?

Are we watching work in progress, or a history of work? Interested in how long it takes to set up a scene such as this. Remembering the techniques and times from ArchiContest, a rendering such as this would take approx. 100 hrs. beginning to end result. Of course after the initial set-up the scene could be rendered from many angles quickly.

Please eloborate. Is this is truly a direction architecture should? If so then the clients for this type of work (Firms and Public) need to educated as to time and expense.

Yes that all 4 images 2 Last Exteriors + 2 Last Interiors is for the same project.

Expansion of GOLF PALACE 5 Stars hotel in Marakesh Morocco.
Images make for PARIS Hotel publicity for season 2005-2006

Interested in how long it takes to set up a scene such as this

DAY=12-14H

1 day modeling
2 day of texturing and light setup
3-4h. PhotoShop compositing.

Of course after the initial set-up the scene could be rendered from many angles quickly.

close to IMPOSSIBLE!!!

for interiors i rendered some like 30-40h! Exteriors i work in photoshop 10-15h!

I start setup scene after find the camera placement is easy and faster.
for me and clients.

Is this is truly a direction architecture should

From now on, please post just the link. People who want to see will see. If you want to post the image, reduce it.

This is for the benefit of the Talkers on slow dialup connections.

Thanks for consideration!

The only thing I am able to critique and I am really being a Nitpick on this is that there is a repeating pattern on the floortiles ( material flipped on horizontal and vert directions). It is very faint but you can see it in the diagonal line going from the center of the image up to the furniture in the top right part of the image.
Let me be clear this is a great image and I was hard pressed to find anything that could be wrong with it. My recommendation is that instead of using one tile and flipping it on both axes just create a 4x4 tile map or 6x6 with different patterns each.
Another option if you are using 3DS Max is to create a tile using procedural maps so that nothing repeats.
Again it is very faint but it is the only thing I would improve and the only way I found it was by looking in the image for repeating patterns.

Whew! Thanks, nice to see someone unfold the inner workings of a rendering artist. Thanks for your post, as a great admirer of properly rendered and presented architectural projects it is helpful to hear the specific stories and details of doing this type of work. I.E., clients and their models, do some of these firms send you their DXF or do you sometimes model from their plans? Why use ArchiCAD? Obviously you have experience in other modelling programs. How does the word get out about your work? Advertising or word of mouth? These are things that are interesting to talk about because many of us are building our business and networking is a great way to learn and grow. Too often business type details are not shared on this TALK. Why be afraid to share the secrets of success? I am not directing this retorical question to you personnally but rather to the group.

For example, last year I earned 80 times more from Construction Documents and traditional architectural design than from rendering. Each CD project involved hidden line renders which were plotted but time never permitted such eloborate color renderings. My guess is that the large projects we see here have budgets for renderings. Are these budgets getting bigger as the clients see the benifits of such work? How does 2003 compare to 1999 for example?

Think of the opportunity for many of us talkers in the larger cities to act as AGENTS for talented individuals such as yourself. Educated and involved agents who can work directly with the larger clients. I have come to know of many ArchiCAD based rendering artists who frequent this discussion group. Providing a connection between them and the firms with a real need for this type of work could perhaps be the focus of another thread here at ArchiCad Talk. What do you think Djordje? How could such a thread be structured to provide opportunities for rendering specialists?

Djordje,

Perhaps he forgot to capitalize. It stands for "Bring Your Enthusiasm"

It trust it doesn't mean that he is leaving us. That would be a serious loss.

I, for one, am wondering when I can come up with a project that could make use of his exceptional talents.

Three cheers Ivan. Keep it up!
