Painting a part of a wall only (not the whole wall)

Hello everyone!

I have a little question, probably a pretty stupid one, but I'll ask anyway...

So I'm working on an indoor modelisation af a small room, and I'd like to paint a part of a wall only, whithout changing the paint on the whole wall.
In fact, I'd like to paint the whole area below the guide line I drew on the wall here (the area marked with a blue "X").
Here's a picture: https://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/download/file.php?mode=view&id=34818

Thanks to anyone who would care to help me out!

To save trying to duplicate and trim walls to this shape, I would just add a morph surface slightly in front of the wall.
