Rendering transparent objects

Hi,

I am trying to render semi-transparent trees and I can't figure it out.

What I did:
Gave the trees transparency by changing the surfaces transparency.
In 3D view the trees are transparent.

When rendering the trees are shown solid.

Any suggestion is welcomed.

Best regards,
Marius C.

This may be a ray depth / threshold issue. This frequently crops up where glass appears black and has been discussed a few times on this forum.

I figured it out. Now the trees are transparent both in 3D views and on renderings.

When I open Surfaces, at the Engine Settings was selected OpenGL. I had to switch it to Internal Engine and make the changes there for the rendering to work properly.

Thanks for the reply !

CineRender doesn't work for me, so I had to make use of the Internal Engine instead.

Correct.

You already figured out that Surfaces have individual settings for each rendering engine. Make sure you change surface settings for the rendering engine you use.
