Skin separator sometimes invisible

I created a section on composite wall and slab, adjacent to a profile wall and simple slab.
The section has a graphic override to hide skin separator.

The strange beahaviour is on the adjacent element; the separation line between different element sometimes is invisible; it depend on the different pen I use for the section of the element.

Hi,

Thank you for posting this here. I am 90% sure we have already come across this however, I have forwarded this to the Technical Support team here in GRAPHISOFT HQ.

I will get back to you here once my colleagues investigate this further and confirm their findings.

I thank you once more for your active participation and wish you a great day!
Also, I'm sorry about the inconveniences you are experiencing with this. I hope we'll get to the bottom of it quickly.

Kind regards,
Ghaleb

I found out the trick.
It depend on the thickness of the pen (not overrided).
Hiding skin separator interests only element in the overrides setting. IF the adjacent element has a thinckness higher than the element interest in the override, it predominates, otherwise it will be invisible.

However I think the opportunity to have a simplified section from complex composite elements must be improved. My suggest is evaluate the possibility to override also materials; in this case we will have auto merge of each layers of a composite element and an auto merge with other element with the same material, without have the conflict in use of the option "show skin separator" that affect also the separation from different element with different material.

Articulated.....but I hope clear.

thank you for the attention

An other question on overriding is for pen.
It would be great have the possibility to force override only for drafting line or cut line or separator line.

Now overriding pen in section mean override non only section but also projection of the elements.

Hi Mario,

Thanks for your answer! Luckily we already had one Wish in our system about overriding only certain materials within a composite so I have added a new entry to it based on your reply. This will give the Wish more weight in the future, which increases the chance of implementation
(For reference, the Wish number is #11003)

As for the other Wish regarding the overriding of Cut Lines, Skin Separator Lines, and/or Drafting Lines separately, I have just added this Wish into our system.
(For reference, the Wish number is #12572)

I sincerely thank you for your active participation on the forums!
