Ahh, this is painful.

A typical drawing using AC9 will print in... I don't know a couple of minutes....... my first print job in AC10 and it was over 20 minutes (at least it printed ).

Any ideas??

I'm using an HP DesignJet 110 +nr

Spoke too soon.

Elevations and sections print OK...... It's just the floor plans that are slow.

There must be something taking up "space".

Anyone have any ideas?

An included:
- big pdf?
- weird linetype?
- bit-map fill?
- scanned image?

Please note that Ac10 treats bitmapped fills a little bit differently than 9, especially the percentage fills in the default list. I'm not sure about all that's happened, but I think it can pay out to check how your fills display and print, along with help files and other docs.

I personally avoid percentage and bit-mapped fills as far as I can. I use grey-scale pens instead and let the printer rasterize. Much faster, and printer-independant as well.

Scanned figures have always been print-slowers, especially at high resolution (above 300 dpi) and/or if they are transformed (scaled, stretched etc) in Archicad.

Thanks Thomas but,......No, No, No and No.

If I save the "sheets" as PDFs ..... I can then print the PDF's in a couple of minutes.

As a test... I open the "Pavillion" sample project. It took 43 minutes to Print the floor plan

Plotmaker prints fine.... Archicad 10 takes forever.
