Drawing lists & index sheets

Perhaps users can share their ideas on creating and managing drawings lists / index sheets.
We need to issue drawing lists on our A1 title sheets (often with a key plan besides it)

I generally set up my drawing lists in MS Excel, which I then paste as a link into plotmaker (as an A1 sheet).

I find that this system works better than the 'old' way of drawing it up as a cad drawing, especially as it is easier to fill in a table into a spreadsheet. One drawback is that the list is not automatically updated. I've been using the same system of linking spreadsheets to plotmaker for finishing schedules and ironmongery schedules.

Any suggestions and thoughs would be welcomed?
