Is Graphisoft listening to their users (us)?

Is anyone else feeling frustrated with how GS is spending our subscription money? Honestly, I don’t think they’re using it fairly, and I’m not happy with the results we’re getting.

For the steep price we’re paying, I expected way more innovation and meaningful updates. What features have they actually delivered that feel revolutionary or worth this kind of cost?

To me, it feels like they’re just coasting on the subscription model without giving us the value we deserve. Why can’t we have a one-time purchase option like other platforms? I’m starting to feel like this whole thing is a cash grab. Anyone else feel the same way

Can anyone from GS comment on this? Some feedback would be appreciated!

@Gordana Radonic (I am really sorry for this inconvenient tag, however your role says you are "Manager, Global Community" and I thought you might help us here. Again I apologize if you are a wrong person.

Greetings everyone.
I'm going to take this opportunity to cry for myself and for others.
Another thing that seems to me is that the development of the tools is not continuous or that they are abandoned after a while until they become obsolete, that is, it seems that GS has the habit of developing things (which are interesting) but do not continue the development and abandon them. Example:

* MEP (I need to say anything?)
* Property Manager (Excel Like, Check out this tool in Revit 2026, amazing)
* Param-O (3D and 2D)
* GDL Environment (develop a really useful IDE, instead of AI for questions, Includ it here)
* Python (I Will talk about...)
* Basic tools (Slab, Wall, can anyone add slab edges natively?)
* Mesh (Revit, Vectorwork, I have no shortage of inspiration)
* Morph (My God, very limited, Try modeling something organic or with good 2D representation)
* Basic Things Like 2D capability (detailing tools, many still seem totally manual and limited)
* Parametric Profile
* 3D Representation Possibility

* Structural Tool (Not Only for Analises, Tray to do simple Structural Detail on Archicad like basic Reinforcement)

And what they can't complain about is that good examples exist and capabilities exist, you don't even need to go far, developers themselves do incredible things when they leave, small companies like Eptar, Bimdots, CI Tool, Simple Addons, Land4, Bimtech and several others show this.

And a frustration I had seeing some examples of Python use and such in BIM or 3D software
First I would like to say that I am not an expert in Python, but rather a learner, but seeing the possibilities and use cases, if I always see examples of really simple things, here Even on the forum, whenever I see someone wanting to do something a little more advanced and deeply integrated with Archicad, they find serious limitations. Then I see examples of what people can achieve in other software in terms of automation and workflow... and I'm perplexed.

The problem is that they say the focus is on Architecture, but it doesn't even please Architects and now it will be multidisciplinary with basic architecture things missing.

Did I get excited or not... I ended up writing too much. Sorry about anything

Great explanation! Thank you. And I totally agree with everything you have written!

hi Alison, what is the 2026 revit tool you mention?  also, do You have any example of user-generated automation processes?

I am talking about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoBmO532udk

check this video, it's basically EXCEL INSIDE REVIT, its Amazing and so functionally. Amazing!!

I think that is an aprils fool video.

Hey! I understood from the comments, but when asking some "users" if Revit allowed this type of editing, they declared having this possibility of "interactive editing" not exactly as in the video, but I refer to the ability to edit the parameters in the Maps, maybe they just fell for the joke also due to the moment.

But think about the idea of this tool, it's incredible, I don't know if Revit has exactly this capability, I don't use it, but the possibility of being able to edit/add/delete or even import properties directly into spreadsheets is intuitive.

I'm referring to a deeper integration with the program, for example, I'm currently learning Blender and the possibilities of using Python are incredible, you can do things without many limitations, whether modeling or coordinating.

As I said, I'm not an expert in Python, but when I tried to automate repetitive tasks (assigning ID, enumeration, deletion based on parameters, etc.), when I tried something more integrated with the system (with the help of AI and tutorials), I always found limitations, giving errors related to the API and the like (I wanted to define/edit parameters/formulas in the management properties).

Interactive Schedule formatting and UI improvements

To support additional graphical flexibility and visually pleasing outputs with less workarounds to Schedules, architects, designers and engineers managing projects through all design stages, will be able to make additional changes to their interactive schedule formatting.
Here is the list of improvements:

  • Hiding/customising Zero values and the hardcoded “---” non-evaluated character
  • Further customising the background colours to allow visual grouping of similar fields
  • Show/hide units for totals and grand totals, and customize a prefix and suffix for showing a custom unit

This way, users don't need to manually adjust things on the layouts or send their schedules to Excel for further formatting. These improvements will make the workflow easier and meet required formatting based on office standards.

Mostly cosmetic, if you ask me...

ARCHICAD 28 SPA

it's like they are totally ignoring the community and just doing something so they can say they did it... The only thing they care about is the money. It is a joke at this point. Archicad has so much potential to be an amazing tool, however it is the same for like 20 years. They cannot even implement dark mode. LIKE WHAT.

it is still an amazing tool. its not like suddenly we cannot do anything with it. But they have already wasted at least 6 years of developement time with VERY little to show for.  meanwhile, times and technology are changing dramatically right infront of us and it feels like Archicad has been left behind BIG TIME.

will Graphisoft use the new suscription money to invest in new technology and bring archicad to the foreront of the industry?     have they already done it and are just waiting for everyone to change to suscription so they can release all the new great features they have lovingly -but secretly- been developing for years now?     will they just take the money but not improve anything, fight a few class actions here and there and leave archicad on life support until its no longer viable?  will they find a way to offer a better deal than what they are currently proposing, at least for current owners of perpetual licences?   the bets are on.

   one thing is sure: dark mode wont be here anytime soon at  least for pc users

Depends what you mean by listening ? As we all know, when you have thousands of customers with different needs and wants it is impossible to hear everyone one of us individually. Becuase of this they can pick and choose what they think is of priority to their users. Not everyone will be satisfied with what they are intending to develop with regards to new features and improvements.

Internal policy changes and also with a new CEO and haven’t we already seen this reflected in the new roadmap reconfiguration ? Sorry but they have all but lost me for AC30 and there is nothing on that list that they are developing apart from BIMx improvements that I would actually be interested in. Had they stuck to their original roadmap, I would have been happy to stay on board for the future development of AC. That was their decision to change it albeit through a new CEO or whatever process they used to change it.

Please reinstate the old roadmap and stick to its intended course and you will keep many users on board and grow the AC user base exponentially.
