Just started using 29 and Design options and Keynote palette are missing. Have they moved it elsewhere? Image attached with the AC29 Portuguese version of palettes

Yes if you want to use your 28 WE.
Otherwise just load a default 29 WE - you can always customise that to suit how you like it.
You have to choose, keep the old WE and check for all new commands (I like to do this but it can be laborious), or use a new WE and maybe customise a few settings to suit what you want.

Are you using a default Work Environment (if so they should be there), or are you using the WE imported from 28?
These two palette commands are considered "New" for some reason and so your old WE will no longer have them (the old ones).
You have to amend your WE and add these new commands back in.
I did report this as a bug in Beta testing, but it seems they are still considered as new commands.

ok thats the reason, thanks for the pinpoint reply, @Barry Kelly ! But that worries me a bit... are these the only ones that are considered new? Would make sense to get a lis of what is not new but is considered new. I only noticed it because the icons from my work environment were missing just like the home icon that is considered new also. @Barry Kelly do you know more like these 3 that I ran into?

Did they fix the Archicad Home command?
It is a new command but in beta it did not show in the list of new commands, so it couldn't be added.
It was only there when using a default WE.
I can't check yet as AUS version has not been released.
There are a lot of new MEP commands, but things have changed with MEP, so that is understandable.
You can list al new commands in the WE settings.

Ok this might be the way to go... all that is written in blue under work environment is considered new... so if I am using it with menus, shortcuts, toolbars palettes, I will have to update them... Would this be the best way to do it @Barry Kelly ?

it will be a bit more laborious but will have to keep most of it coming from 28... thanks for the help once again!

I just updated my work environment yesterday (https://shoegnome.com/2025/10/07/shoegnome-work-environment-for-archicad-29/). I noticed a lot of menus and commands that were basically identical to their Archicad 28 versions but listed as blue (hence new), which means they will disappear/not migrate from Archicad 28 to 29. I ended up having to rebuild all my custom toolbars and menus. I tried using Visual Studio Code to edit and copy/paste between XML files, but also ran into issues (that process had previously worked well between 27 and 28 when opening Work Environment XML files).
Because of all the rebuilt items listed as blue, I highly recommend rebuilding your WE from scratch. That said, if you have a lot of custom Keyboard Shortcuts, just compare yours to the new KBS, make adjustments and import those. There's very few new/changed keyboard shortcuts from Archicad 28.

Yes, that's exactly what I did, started by checking all the "considered new in blue" commands, toolbars and menus because some were not on my 28 WE. Although it was more work, it forced me to check on all of it once again, rediscovering some commands that were forgotten that do exist and rethinking their use on my WE. I did end up doing what you were saying, from scratch and comparing my 28 and the default 29 WE to match both.
A few new curious things that I found useful on 29:
- The possibility to have an icon to turn dark mode or not, which is nice because I like to switch from both depending on the time of the day, light conditions around me and type of work ahead of me... Now it's super easy and quick! No need to create different WE.
- Beware that most Structural and MEP commands are considered new, because of the new MEP designer.
- Anchor all windows/tabs or the opposite, not sure the name in English is anchoring... version 29 also.
- Screen size has now a new command.
- Show/Hide Ai assistant and Ai visualizer.
Thanks Jared,
Cheers
