Openings in IFC

Why is WYSIWYG still NOT a thing?

I want to show ALL Elements “to be demolished” in IFC.

I want to evaluate that demolition quantity (easily and not via complicated schedule filterings that need to include NEW openings but only in existing elements  …)

No one?

Assuming the Problem lies with IFC standard definition (IfcOpening cannot be a solid)

the following workarounds are futile:

Also, Openings can NOT be reclassified as “solid elements” (-> ifcBuildingElementProxy) and Archicad elements can NOT be classified as IfcOpenings.

Openings can also NOT participate in Boolean operations.

One way to program this would be to automatically creat/accesse internal "intersection solids" (Boolean operation) and switch those on export for openings.

Call this model filter export setting: “All 3D Elements with openings as solids”

OR just NOT use openings AT ALL. (laborious, but feasible)
